Community EIPs Are Now Live

Ethos
August 5, 2025

Ever wanted to change how Ethos credibility scores work?

Now YOU can submit proposals for how to modify how Ethos Credibility scores are calculated.

What This Means

Community EIPs (Ethos Improvement Proposals) give the community a direct voice in how the protocol evolves. Anyone with an active Ethos profile can now submit proposals that could shape how credibility scores are calculated.

Governance-Lite

Of course, we've always disclaimed this with "governance-lite"—the Ethos team is still in full directional control.

However, we believe this is a great way to ensure the community is always empowered and aligned with the changes implemented—including authoring their own EIPs.

How to Participate

Anyone with an active Ethos profile can submit an EIP through our Snapshot page. Proposals go through a voting process where the community can signal support or opposition.

The best proposals address real issues in the scoring system and come with thoughtful analysis of potential impacts.

First Community EIP

Within hours of launching, we already had our first community-authored EIP from @afkboom: EIP-8 "Invite Liability for AI Slop"—demonstrating the community's eagerness to participate in protocol governance.
