Grok draws on Ethos reputation scores, as lex_node noticed

On October 28, @lex_node pointed out that @grok, the AI assistant on X, was “naturally using @ethos_network reputation scores to make a decision.” Ethos responded that this is no accident: the team has been working heavily on making Ethos data discoverable to large language models (LLMs).

For anyone active in crypto, the takeaway is simple. What people say about you on Ethos may increasingly shape how AI tools describe you, or decide things about you.

What lex_node noticed

In their post, @lex_node called it “pretty cool” that Grok used Ethos reputation scores while making a decision, without being specifically pushed to do so. The word “naturally” is the point: Grok reached for Ethos data on its own as a relevant source of information about reputation.

Ethos is building for AI discoverability

Ethos is an onchain reputation network where people review and vouch for each other, and every account gets a credibility score from what others say about it. According to the Ethos team, they have been putting significant work into making several kinds of Ethos content discoverable to LLMs:

  • Profiles
  • Reviews
  • Slashes
  • Other Ethos content

The team said to “expect more of this,” meaning more cases where AI tools pick up and use Ethos reputation data.

Why it matters

People increasingly ask AI assistants about projects, traders and accounts before deciding whether to trust them. If those assistants can find and read Ethos profiles, reviews and slashes, then the record built up by the community on Ethos travels with an account well beyond the Ethos app itself.

That cuts both ways. A strong history of positive reviews and vouches can follow you into conversations you’re not part of. So can an upheld slash or a pattern of critical reviews.

As Ethos put it: “Your reputation now precedes you in crypto.”
