On May 22, 2025, @BoltXBT opened a slash on Ethos against @dkxbt. The slash targeted @dkxbt’s then-upcoming project, @PopeShroomsBTC, and his past involvement with @mikan_btc.
The case is a record of how warnings about an account can build up on Ethos before a new project launches. Anyone weighing a new project often has little to go on beyond the people behind it, and a slash puts a specific accusation about those people on the record.
The accusation
@BoltXBT summed up the case in one line, which also served as the slash’s title:
“A long-time ordinal grifter attempting to grift again.”
The slash pointed to two things:
- @PopeShroomsBTC, a project @dkxbt had planned at the time
- @mikan_btc, which he had been involved with in the past
In other words, @BoltXBT’s argument tied the new project to his concerns about @dkxbt’s history, rather than treating it as a fresh start. The slash was published at app.ethos.network/activity/slash/71, and Ethos invited people to share their thoughts on it.
The reviews already on his profile
The slash didn’t arrive on a blank profile. When Ethos posted about it, @dkxbt had two reviews, both negative:
- @kekbeta (1535): “Grifting scammer”, posted about two months before the slash
- @Knox556 (1500): “Scammer / Rugger”, posted on May 22, 2025, the same day as the slash
The earlier review matters most here. @kekbeta had flagged @dkxbt roughly two months before @BoltXBT brought the slash, so the concern was already visible to anyone who checked his Ethos profile.
Why it matters
On Ethos, people review and vouch for each other, and every account gets a credibility score from what others say about it. A project announcement on its own says little about whether its founder can be trusted. Reviews and slashes from other people add a record of what they have experienced or observed, and in @dkxbt’s case that record pointed in one direction: two reviews and a slash from three different accounts, all raising the same concern.
The outcome
Ethos’s posts from May 22, 2025 don’t record how the slash was resolved. They document the accusation, the projects it named and the two reviews on @dkxbt’s profile at the time.
