Your XP didn’t disappear. On Ethos it’s now Karma, and Karma can earn you WHUF. Season 1 is live: it runs for 3 months, and 15,000 WHUF will be split among the top 1,000 participants.
Your XP carries over into your Total Karma. Season 1 starts everyone at zero, though: Season Karma counts only what you earn this season, and it’s what decides the top 1,000.
What changed
XP has become Karma. Karma is the measure of your participation on Ethos, and a separate tally, Season Karma, tracks what you do during the current season. At the end of Season 1, the top 1,000 share the 15,000 WHUF.

Who’s eligible
Eligibility comes down to three requirements:
- An Ethos score above 1300
- Human verified
- No upheld slash against your account
Together, these keep the season focused on credible, real people with a clean record on the network.
How to earn Season Karma
Season Karma comes from three kinds of activity:
- Doing your dailies: the regular tasks that keep you active on Ethos
- Posting reviews and vouches people upvote: activity alone doesn’t count for as much as contributions the community finds useful
- Getting tipped: when others tip you Karma, it adds to your Season Karma
The upvote requirement matters. Season Karma comes from reviews and vouches other people find valuable, not from how many you post. That ties standing in the season to useful signal on the network.
100 Karma a day to tip others
Every user now gets 100 Karma a day to tip to others. It’s a daily allowance for recognizing people whose reviews, vouches or other contributions you think deserve it.
Since getting tipped is one way to earn Season Karma, tipping lets the community decide who stands out. Your 100 daily Karma is a direct way to point credit at the people you think are adding value.
