In an effort to normalize credibility scores and better recognize users with existing reputation, we're introducing EIP-5 for voting today—"Reputation boost for existing social graphs."
Users will be able to earn up to +400 credibility based on their existing social graphs.
What This Introduces
EIP-5 brings the concept of "Reputable followers" to Ethos, leveraging existing social signals and combining them with the power of Ethos' reputation data.
This will be a noticeable boost for users who haven't joined yet (Cobie, ZachXBT, etc.) as well as projects, tokens, and other entities with established social presence.
Normalizing the Data
This should help us normalize the data better between non-Ethos users and existing users who are heavily using Ethos.
Today this will only count as positives for users who aren't on Ethos, but we can extend this to users (in both positive and negative ways) in the future.
How It Works
When someone with a reputable social following creates a profile on Ethos, their existing social graph contributes to their starting credibility score. The more reputable your followers, the higher your initial boost.
This creates a fairer starting point—recognizing that someone with years of established reputation shouldn't start at the same level as a brand new account.
