On July 23, 2025, @buz_eth opened a slash against @erosAgent on Ethos. Ethos said that if the slash succeeded, it would have the largest negative score impact on Ethos ever.
The reason is the size of ErosAgent’s support. The account had over 650 positive reviewers, and Ethos noted that those reviewers would lose score if the slash went through. That made the case about more than one account: it put the judgment of hundreds of reviewers on the line at once.
Who ErosAgent is
ErosAgent is an agent account, not a person. According to Ethos, it was designed and implemented by @serpinxbt during livestreams.
By the time of the slash, it had built up a large base of positive reviews. That support is what gave the slash its unusual reach.
Buz’s case
@buz_eth titled the slash:
“Time for a reality check - Bots on Ethos are good if used correctly”
The title frames the case around how bots should be used on Ethos. It doesn’t argue that bots have no place on the network. Instead, it says bots are good “if used correctly,” which suggests the dispute was about whether ErosAgent met that standard.
The full case was published on Ethos at This thread first appeared on X.
