On November 4, 2026, Ethos reminded people they could still join Ethos Curators, a campaign where participants can earn $WHUF. Its main rule: only replies, quotes and reposts from accounts with a credible Ethos score count.
Paid-post campaigns are usually easy to game, so this matters for anyone who has watched them get flooded with low-effort or automated activity.
The problem with most paid-post campaigns
According to Ethos, most paid-post campaigns count every reply. When every reply counts the same, whoever can produce the most replies comes out ahead, and that is usually a bot farm rather than a real community.
The image attached to the post makes the same point. It shows a man in sunglasses at a signing table with a stack of photos, smiling at a long line of featureless mannequins. The line looks impressive until you notice that almost nobody in it is a person.
How Ethos Curators is different
Ethos Curators doesn’t count every interaction. It only counts these three kinds of engagement:
- Replies
- Quotes
- Reposts
And it only counts them when they come from accounts with a credible Ethos score. Ethos is an onchain reputation network where people review and vouch for each other, and every account gets a credibility score based on what others say about it. Using that score as the filter means engagement from accounts without a credible reputation doesn’t move the needle.
Ethos summed up the campaign in two words: “Humans only.”
Why the filter matters
When engagement from a fresh bot account counts the same as engagement from someone with a real track record, the incentives favor volume over substance. Tying a campaign to reputation shifts the reward toward people others have reviewed and vouched for, which makes the activity it generates harder to fake.
How to join
As of November 4, the campaign had 17 days left, and new participants could still join and earn $WHUF. Details are at curators.ethos.network.
