On July 26, 2025, Ethos announced a new slash: @ZP_12_, an account rated Reputable on Ethos, was slashing @Gfunkera86, an account rated Neutral. The slash was titled “Grifter, rugger, thief.”
A slash is one of the most serious actions on Ethos. Rather than leaving an accusation as one person’s word, it puts the case in front of the community for a vote.
What the slash said
The case came from someone who described themselves as a victim rather than an outside observer. In the slash, @ZP_12_ wrote:
“Grifter, rugger, thief”“As a member of both the Pixel Vault and Wolf Game communities, I admit I got fooled.”
The accusation has three parts:
- Grifter
- Rugger
- Thief
The second line placed the case inside two communities, Pixel Vault and Wolf Game, and framed it as a personal admission. @ZP_12_ said they belonged to both and had been fooled.
Reputable versus Neutral
Ethos is an onchain reputation network where people review and vouch for each other, and every account gets a credibility score based on what others say about it. Ethos’s announcement noted where each side stood at the time: the account bringing the slash was rated Reputable, and the account being slashed was rated Neutral.
That context matters for anyone weighing the case. A Neutral rating meant @Gfunkera86’s standing on the network hadn’t settled strongly in either direction, while the accusation came from an account others had already rated well.
The vote
Ethos asked the community a simple question: what do you think? The slash opened for voting for 48 hours from its announcement on July 26, 2025, at This thread first appeared on X.
