On April 21, 2025, Ethos announced a partnership with @TakoProtocol, a decentralized social network. The goal was to make Ethos reviews more visible and easier to reach in social interfaces beyond Ethos itself. Two days later, on April 23, Ethos added a new leaderboard category called “Tako circle.”
For anyone who relies on Ethos reviews to judge who to trust, the partnership pointed toward that information appearing where people already spend time, not only on Ethos.
What the partnership covered
Ethos described two aims for working with Tako:
- Ethos reviews more prominently displayed and easy to access in other social interfaces
- Work with new, upcoming projects where both teams get “multiplicative effects” by working with each other
Tako announced the partnership in its own post, calling itself a strategic partner of Ethos. Tako said both teams were expanding globally and that Ethos’s credential layer “perfectly complements” Tako’s decentralized social network.
Syncing Props with Ethos reviews
In its announcement, Tako said an upcoming product update would let certain whitelisted Tako users automatically sync the Props on their Tako profiles with their Ethos reviews. The posts don’t record when or whether that update shipped.
Tako also noted that @0x5f_eth, an Ethos founder, was the first founder featured in its @base Founders Series on Tako, and pointed readers to two earlier posts about Ethos’s product and vision (part one and part two). Tako said it planned to host a Twitter Space with @0x5f_eth for more live updates. The posts don’t say when that Space took place.
Not just another announcement
Writing in the Ethos thread, @0x5f_eth was candid about partnership announcements in general: they usually look at them and cringe, because they are often meaningless and don’t lead to anything of value.
This one, they said, was different. The Ethos team had been talking with Tako for over a month before the announcement, and was excited about what Tako was building to bridge Ethos to its interface.
The “Tako circle” leaderboard
On April 23, 2025, Ethos followed up by extending its leaderboard with a new category, “Tako circle.” It includes active Chinese crypto Twitter (CT) users who are recognized by the Tako community.
The category sits under the most credible tab of the Ethos leaderboard and can be found at app.ethos.network/leaderboard.
Ethos is built around reviews, and Tako described it as a credential layer. A leaderboard category built around a specific community gives people a way to see who is credible within that group, alongside the wider rankings.
