@JPEG_Yakuza_ opened a social slash against Zora on Ethos

On April 24, 2025, @JPEG_Yakuza_ opened a social slash against @zora on Ethos, seeking to cut 100 credibility score from the account. The slash was titled “The Playbook on exactly what NOT to do.”

The case is a record of how Ethos lets one user formally challenge another account’s reputation, and how that challenge was put in front of the wider community to view, vote and comment on.

Who was involved

Ethos announced the slash with each account’s standing on the network at the time:

  • @JPEG_Yakuza_, the account opening the slash: Reputable II, with a score of 1889
  • @zora, the account being slashed: Neutral, with a score of 1451

On Ethos, every account gets a credibility score from what others say about it, and those scores map to levels like Reputable and Neutral. When the slash was opened, the challenger sat well above the target on that scale.

What the slash said

The slash’s title, “The Playbook on exactly what NOT to do,” framed @JPEG_Yakuza_’s view of @zora: that the account’s conduct served as an example of what to avoid. The Ethos announcement didn’t go into the specific arguments behind the slash. Instead, Ethos linked the slash page itself for anyone who wanted to view the case.

A question put to the community

Ethos called it a “social slash” and invited people to weigh in directly. The slash page let users do three things:

  • View the case @JPEG_Yakuza_ made
  • Vote on it
  • Comment on it

The slash was published at This post first appeared on X.
