On September 19, 2025, @adinalini opened a slash against @PirateNation on Ethos for 203 credibility score. The case was summed up in one line: “Blatant Rug after years of promises.”
The slash put more than one account’s reputation on the line. Pirate Nation had 146 supporters on Ethos, and all of them stood to lose credibility score if the slash succeeded.
Who was involved
Ethos is an onchain reputation network where people review and vouch for each other, and every account gets a credibility score based on what others say about it. At the time of the slash, the two accounts had nearly identical scores:
- @PirateNation: credibility score of 1621
- @adinalini: credibility score of 1629
In other words, this wasn’t a low-credibility account taking aim at an established one. The account bringing the slash had a slightly higher score than the project it was accusing.
The accusation
The slash framed Pirate Nation’s case as a rug that followed “years of promises.” The posts don’t go into further detail about what those promises were or what specifically prompted the accusation. What they do make clear is the size of the claim: @adinalini sought to slash 203 points from Pirate Nation’s credibility score.
What was at stake for supporters
The most notable part of the case was its reach beyond Pirate Nation itself. The project had 146 supporters on Ethos, and Ethos noted that each of them stood to lose credibility score if the slash was successful.
That is a reminder of how support works on a reputation network. Backing an account ties part of your own standing to it. When that account faces a serious accusation, the people who stood behind it share in the consequences if the accusation holds up.
How it ended
Ethos shared the case with its community and asked a simple question: what do you think? The posts don’t record the outcome of the slash, so it isn’t clear from them whether Pirate Nation lost the 203 points or whether its 146 supporters saw their scores affected.
